  SPRING CULINARY TOURS

 
       
       
   

Everything that was in hibernation comes to life from the beginning of September. The naked vines slowly get dressed with fresh green leaves, empty fruit trees are decorated with feather light pink, white and green blossoms. Swallows return from the northern hemisphere, and there is excitement in the air.

Day 1:

Arrive at Cape Town International airport in the morning.

We start our spring tour at the smallest MCC cellar in Africa in Hout Bay, from there we drive to Yzerfontein along the West Coast and spend the night at the Strandkombuis, where a seafood spread of local fish and shellfish will be served for lunch.

Guests are welcome to walk along the sandy beaches and we can arrange intimate baskets of sun downers snacks and drinks. The evening we will do a Dexter steak braai, with all the extras and wine from the area.

 
       
   

Day 2:

The following morning, after breakfast, we will go on a local wine and dairy tour. Darling, well known for their dairies, have a lot to offer. We

will also purchase un-pasteurised milk to make our own yogurt at our

next stop. Visiting Groote Post winery as well as Darling Cellars, we

will do some wine tasting and pairing.

From Darling, we will travel to Riebeeck Kasteel and Riebeeck Wes, visiting Allesverloren, a selection of olive farms and enjoy a stroll through the art town of Riebeeck Kasteel. Lunch will be on the stoep of a small art gallery, and then we will drive to Paarl/ Simondium. The evening will be spent in the lovely Herbert Baker Mansion Lekkerwijn.

 
       
   

Day 3:

Franschhoek, Villiersdorp and Greyton are on

our agenda with fruit, cheese, wine, bread, pastry and chocolate tastings. A lunch at Bientangs Cave with the opportunity to do

some whale watching will conclude the tour.

Guests will depart from the Cape Town International Airport at 18:00 or later.
